Top Resources for Women Business Owners

Calling all women business owners!

Most of us can agree that owning a business is a tough job. Let alone doing it as a woman in a man’s world.

As the 28-year-old CEO of The Boutique COO, I have faced the ups and downs of owning a 7-figure business and am here to tell you what has helped me most in this journey.

4 Resources All Women Business Owners Should Take Advantage Of

1. Finding peer groups to join.

This has helped me so much in my journey! I often feel lonely, dealing with business-owner-specific challenges when most of my friends and family don’t own businesses themselves and can’t relate.

I’ve found peers through networking and local peer mentorship groups, and it has helped me so much to feel less lonely, put things in perspective, and get inspired to keep going!

2. Grants and non-profit support for your industry.

There are tons of these opportunities if you just look for them.

If you’re in an industry that is helping the world in some way, there’s a good chance there’s a grant program out there that you can take advantage of.

Tons of non-profits support women-owned businesses, specifically Xcelerate Women in Portland. These can be a great resource for you as you start to grow!

3. Outsourcing to experts I trust.

This has been key. 🔑

Finding a great lawyer, bookkeeper, marketing team, and admin support has been key, and they have truly saved my business so many times.

As a business owner, I don’t know (and won’t ever know) everything, so having those I can trust to give me good advice does wonders.

4. Hiring a business coach that I admire.

Even as a business coach myself, I have a coach.

Why? It is so valuable to get someone else’s outside opinion on how things are going and opportunities that I’m missing from someone who isn’t as emotionally invested in the business as I am.

Getting this perspective is invaluable and has helped me grow the business and my confidence at the same time.
